Grade Level Assemblies

Assemblies are a great way to unite your entire school around the Choose Well message.

Students will leave motivated to choose well and to contribute to your school culture in a positive way.

the power of a shared Experience.

Interactive, engaging, and educational…

assemblies are a great way to introduce your school to the Choose Well Message. We typically recommend grade-level assemblies (K-3, 6-8, 9-12, etc.) as they allow Mister Brown to curate his lessons to each developmental age group. However, all-school assemblies are also available, depending on the size and needs of your school. Whichever you choose, assemblies are a great way to bring the school together around a shared experience.

Teachers, students, and staff

are all introduced to the Choose Well message at the same time. Assemblies create a shared experience that brings camaraderie and excitement to school. We have seen this excitement and shared language translate beyond the classroom and out onto the playground as students interact with one another.

Designed with you in mind,

each assembly is customized to the needs of each school. This can mean adapting the Choose Well message to compliment any SEL, PBIS, or character development curriculum schools are currently working with.

  • Intro to ‘Choose Well’

At each assembly Mister Brown shares with students about himself, his life, and the Choose Well message. Using interactive lessons, engaging stories, and fun illustrations, Mister Brown teaches students about the power of their choices, and challenges them to Choose Well – Oh Yeah!

  • Teaching "why" vs "what"

At the Choose Well Program we believe in teaching students the WHY and not just the WHAT. For example, students know that they should be kind, honest, and respectful (what), but change comes when they understand the power of their choice to do so (why).

  • Working Together

Whether through SEL, PBIS, or other already defined curriculum, many schools are implementing some form of character development or behavior change program. The Choose Well message is designed to both stand alone as well as integrate with any curriculum and goals schools may already be using.

FAQ

  • What’s the main difference between grade level and all school assemblies?

Grade level assemblies are designed with more age specific content. All school assemblies can be beneficial if you have a smaller school. They also allow your entire school to hear the Choose Well message at the same time. Both are beneficial depending on the size and needs of your school.

  • Can Mister Brown host virtual assemblies?

Yes! And the goal is the same as an in-person assembly - to unite your entire school around the Choose Well message. Virtual assemblies are also a great option if you are working with a limited budget.

  • Can Assemblies be purchased as a stand-alone service?

Yes. Each Choose Well product is designed to work as a stand-alone service. However, we recommend adding services together into a partnership that best meets the needs of your school. See the Partnership page for more information.

What Educators Are Saying

  • Elem. School Principal

“School assemblies are great because they help kick off the program and helps the students to get to know Mister Brown, have fun, and get to know the Choose Well message.”

  • Elem. School Principal

“When teachers have been skeptical of the first Choose Well assembly, they are completely sold once they see how the kids respond and interact with Mister Brown. The Choose Well message really helps teachers in the classroom. I notice whenever I go into classrooms that kids are doing the hand motions and teachers have a lot of buy in. The proof is in the pudding.”

  • Superintendent

“Not all speakers are worth the investment. Mister Brown is. It is not a canned program – worth every dime we spent on it.”
